Only one of our looms can make carpets longer than 4 metres – and with the demand for runners and larger carpets increasing, we need taller looms and, when possible, a Kashmiri loom which rolls the carpet round a central spindle as the weaving progresses.

Water is critical to good health and tanks on the roof provide water from the well to taps and toilets.

Good health is directly connected to good sanitary conditions. Toilets on our site date from an era before the troubles and now need upgrading and replacing. Because the main street sewage systems have been destroyed, we have to be especially careful about what we can provide.
