What types or carpets are available

Afghan Action’s beautiful carpets are styled on Kazak geometric designs and other traditional Afghan designs such as Aqhchai, Andkhui, Chakoshi, Mazari, Uzbaki Kazak.

Our weavers pride themselves in crafting uniquely highly prized Middle Eastern art forms.   

The wool which is produced from the local sheep and goats is hand spun.  It is then coloured with mainly natural vegetable dyes made of dried plants and the skin of fruits and vegetables.

The traditional eight colours used in our Kazak designs are red, cream, light blue, dark blue, orange, green and yellow mix, golden and black. The woollen strands are hand knotted onto the tanista base around horizontal foot cotton warps and vertical cotton alghaaj wefts on looms of varying sizes.

The carpets are hand washed , clipped by hand and inspected by a Master Trainer. A label, guaranteeing the carpets authenticity, is attached prior to despatch to London.

We’ve also had orders from corporate customers to incorporate and feature their logo within a carpet  to provide a focal point within the office.

Not only can you choose from our range of over 100 carpets in different sizes and designs but we also provide a ‘Made to Order’ Service where we can incorporate your own unique design/corporate logo.
