Government schools provide children under 14 with 2 hours a day of basic education. Many of Afghan Action’s trainees and staff have missed out on education, so these daily literacy and numeracy classes are of vital importance. The syllabus followed is approved by the Ministry of Education - and not just that, they now supply two free teachers in addition to our own.
Classroom space is cramped and facilities are fairly basic. Teachers need equipment. Sponsoring the cost of employing our teacher and providing books and equipment will really help young people make the most of the education they so urgently need - and really value! There's nothing more moving than seeing these young adults so hungry to learn.
